The ticket price is SGD 18 for adult. However, our relative got several free tickets from his company. We also brought our baby together with us. Before going, we wondered whether baby will look at the animals or the other way round. Here are some of our photos at Singapore Zoo.

What are you looking at?

 The Singapore Zoo is so big we only visited about 60% of its point of attraction. If you want to visit it, remember to arrive early in the morning to have enough time for your visit. Don’t miss their animal show too. Each show will be performed two to three times in a day at a pre-scheduled time. The sea lion show is quite interesting.

Overall, Singapore Zoo is clean, tidy and spacious. This is a good place for a relaxing stroll with your family. There are many resting area, toilet and mini shop selling drink and ice cream. You can also see different kind of flowers over there.

 

Of course, I didn’t forget to take some photos of this beautiful hotel. However, I had to use Panasonic FX36 point and shoot camera since it was too troublesome to bring the much bigger Nikon D60 SLR camera.

Marina Mandarin Hotel was built with great design in mind. You can see elegant decoration and design in every corner. The huge empty space in the middle is surrounded by hotel rooms. And the external elevator moves up and down to transport people between these rooms. Enjoy the spacious environment accompanied by the elevator’s gentle movement.

Hmmm… I’m hungry! Let’s go get some food at the Aquamarine buffet restaurant. As its name suggests, this restaurant is designed around the theme of marine world. You will see light and clear design everywhere. However, don’t expect to see prawn, crab and other seafood being served here.

The food was good (I’m easily satisfied with food) although the service was slightly slow when we ordered our drink. Maybe it was due the crowded people in that Saturday noon. Overall, I really enjoyed this buffet lunch.

For any buffet meal, just remember not to eat too full. You may want to “eat back your money” but at the end, you’re ruining your health.

There are also a lot of monkey in Gunung Lambak mountain. And we happened to spot a few monkeys roaming around when we arrived. They slowly walked away as we approached.

Genting Highlands plan

We just came back from a short trip to Genting Highlands. It is the only casino in Malaysia. Therefore, its main attraction is of course, gambling. Some like the cold climate at this highland, ranging from 15 to 25 °C. But I find it very cold.

I mostly follow my wife’s relative to Genting Highlands. Since I don’t gamble, I often find it boring over there. But with my new Nikon D60 digital camera, at least I have something to do – taking photos. Here are some photos I took over there.

Gunung Lambak pathway

This morning, baby went to Gunung Lambak (Mount Pile) recreation area for a walk. The sky was getting dark when we arrived. I carried baby up this pathway, took some photo and walked down quickly. Soon it started to rain lightly.

Previously, my wife walked through this pathway several times when she was pregnant. Light exercise is important for smooth labor. So I would accompany my wife to come over here for some walk. Therefore, baby should be quite familiar with this place.

At first baby was awake. But after a while he slept again as usual. We should have took his photo earlier when he was still awake. This was a very short trip due to the raining season over here.

So let’s begin our journey. Here we come, Gunung Lambak!

Starting route is easy. It's nicely paved and not very steep.

No more pavement. But you still have natural staircase

Gunung Lambak mid-stop

Here we are… the mid-stop. I’ll reach here in about 15 minutes if I climb non-stop from the bottom. After this point, the journey gets rougher. No more pavement. No more natural staircase. But you still have ropes tied to the sides to help you with the rough terrain.

From this mid-stop to the mountain top, I’ll take another 30 minutes without resting. Today I just climb until this mid-stop.  So down we go now…

Gunung Lambak water park for kids. Some are enjoying the water. Some are just watching.

Have a cup of coffee while enjoying the scenery. There are also several chalets for rent. So outstation people can rest here for a night before continue their journey.
