Basically, newborn baby does only two things most of the time – sleep and eat. We often wrap up baby like a ball when they sleep. We believe baby will not get frightened. This mimics the environment in mother’s womb where they are also wrapped up tightly. All babies at the maternity hospital are wrapped up too.
However, I heard baby in Australia and other western countries is not wrapped up. Their hands and legs are free to move and kick around. This lets baby exercise and practice their movements. Well, I think this is good for baby’s growth too.
So sometimes, we unwrap our baby and let him exercise a little bit. And when he sleeps, he has various sleeping poses to show.
